Green Building & Construction We used to construct buildings out of asbestos and lead paint (duh).. But these days we build passive solar houses that utilize glass, the sun, wind and water saving techniques. Finally, we're starting to use our brains (yay).. Building eco-friendly homes and buildings can save a small fortune in energy bills, but are also easier on the environment and highly fashionable. Discuss green building and construction here.

San Diego Community Starts Trend

This year for Mother's Day I decided to do something a little different than we normally do. There is a new community in San Diego called Del Sur. I had heard about this event they were holding for Mother's Day from a friend and decided to check it out. I was surprised to find a new community offering solar energy systems, tankless water heaters and drought free landscaping in California, especially since it seems we are always criticized for the pollution. I hope other communities follow Del Sur.

Hi Lauren,

Its always great to hear about communities who are supporting renewable green energy! I'd be iterested in knowing more about the program and if they have any other similar events going on that we can post for other users to view.

We are always looking for ways to help communities network online via the weregreen community. If you let me know if they have any other dates, i can post them on the community calander to inform people of upcoming events.

Thanks!

Thanks for supporting Del Sur. I also was interested in learning more about the community. After searching the internet I found this grate article at San Diego Source > FrontPage > Del Sur embraces green building practices about the community. You can also visit their website at Del Sur. I think they might be planning a similar event for Father's Day so I will keep you posted! Thanks again for helping spread the word.
