The greatest thing about the internet is that there is always something going on for everyone. Whatever you are into – no matter how committed you are- there is always a community and/or contest that is right up your alley, with prizes that you really, really want to win.
And, to help you find these contests better, We’re Green is constantly searching the internet, our partners, affiliates, sponsors, and other like-minded groups and sites for contests that we think our community members will be interested in, and would love to take part in.
Some of these contests may be for you, and some may not – and even if you choose not to enter, we think that they are of note, and you may enjoy taking a look at the contests, the entries and the winners to get a better idea of what other people around the world are doing to make their voice heard by those people that matter – people as passionate about being green as We’re Green community members are.
And (insert drum roll here) are the contests:
- The Vespa Go Green Challenge (Deadline – Oct. 15, 2007)Make a video on Vespanomics, educate people around the world, and win 1 of 3 brand new Vespa Motor Scooters. For official rules and entries, please visit the Vespa Go Green Challenge Website.
- ECOspot Challenge (Deadline – Sep 12, 2007)Submit a video commercial for a chance to win some great prizes, and have your video appear in a new Global Warming Ad Campaign from Al Gore and CurrentTV. For official rules and entries please visit the ECOSPOT Challenge Website.
- Six Degrees of Global WarmingA funny, light-hearted, and witty contest proposed by a writer of EnvironmentalTalk at 451 Press. Six Degrees of Global Warming asks you to take a current problem and (in 6 steps – like the game with Kevin Bacon) link that problem to Global Warming. The creator suggests such problems as “The Chicago Cubs Extended Failure to Win a World Series”, “Why Your Car Won’t Start” and “Lindsay Lohan’s Drinking Problem” among others. While we doubt there really are any prizes given out, this looks like a very fun way to spend about 10 minutes of your day. For full contest details and to enter, please visit the Six Degrees of Global Warming Contest Page.
- Ulitimate Global Warming Challenge (Deadline – Dec 1, 2008)Presented by JunkScience.com, the Ultimate Global Warming Challenge asks for anyone in the world to save Al Gore’s reputation, and prove (scientifically) that human beings are the number 1 cause of Global Warming on Earth. The grand prize for this contest is $100,000 yes (that’s a lot of money) and you can view all the rules and regulations, as well enter the contest at the Ultimate Global Warming Challenge Website.
- $25 Million Virgin Earth ChallengeAl Gore and Virgin Founder Sir Richard Branson bring the biggest prize (aside from survival) to a Global Warming Contest ever. The contest is looking for a commercially viable design that can result in the net removal of anthropogenic atmospheric greenhouse gases each year for at least 10 years. Good cause – and really, really good money! For official rules and details, please visit the $25 Million Virgin Earth Challenge Website.
Please visit this page often, as old contests are continuously ending, while new ones are always starting – We’re Green will keep you up to date with the best contests that the Web has to offer. |
